These are a couple comment threads between Councilmember Matt Prestenberg and me from Facebook.

I had made a comment on a post by Jayne Moench Reed in the Sachse Texas Residents group on May 4th, 2024, and Matt engaged with me on the topic of the complaint I had filed. Eventually the moderator of that group deleted the thread but I had saved a screenshot of the conversation.  Jayne had an identical post in the Sachse Community Page on Facebook, so I posted the screenshot there for the citizens to see.

It is clear from Matt's comments that he believes my complaint had been investigated and resolved, and that I had been notified about the resolution of the complaint in April of 2022.  (He uses the term "reinvestigate" which clearly shows he believed it had originally been investigated.)

As you can read for yourselves in the emails from the City Secretary and City Attorney those assertions were not true as the council had never taken up my complaint.

At some point in the thread, Matt seems to have become aware of the emails which the City Secretary had just recently sent me contradicting his assertions, and Matt stopped responding to my comments without answering how he had come to be misinformed about the status of my complaint. 

Matt engaged with me in another comment thread from February 10th of 2025.  This one is still up (as of today, April 23rd, 2025) in the Sachse Community Page under a post from Catherine Cavalier about candidates for the city council.

I had commented that the council was lacking integrity, and Matt chimed in to defend himself.  I pointed out that he still hadn't answered my questions from the previous thread (about who misled him about the status of my complaint).

Matt acknowledges that my complaint was never addressed, but denies any responsibility for it being ignored as the complaint was filed before he was elected.  (For clarity, I have emailed the complaint to Matt and urged him to investigate it, but he has not.  He has received the complaint, he just wasn't an original recipient of it.  As it was never addressed it is still a pending item for the council to address and Matt has chosen not to address it.)

I responded again stating that he had previously posted incorrectly that my complaint had been investigated and resolved and that I had been notified of the resolution, and asking him why he believed that.

Matt made a ridiculous statement "the council at the time decided not to move it forward.  Sometimes inaction is action, I never said nothing was done."  

That's a fantastic example of a politician reinventing language to suit his needs.  It seems that Matt is trying to say that the council ignoring my complaint is the same as taking action on the complaint, and he's denying that nothing was done after just stating that the council did not bring my complaint forward to address it.  

Words have meaning, and those who are speaking honestly with integrity don't have to redefine the words to explain away what they had previously said.

Matt wants the citizens to believe that he was never lied to so that he doesn't have to identify and address the person who lied to him about the status of my complaint. 

In addition to these conversations, I have sent Matt five emails about this, but he has never responded to my emails.  You can read those emails here.  You should read them to see how hard I tried to convince him to find the truth for himself.
